50 Affirmations for Letting Go of Fear
Fear is a natural part of being human. It can show up when we're facing change, stepping into something new, making an important decision, or simply imagining all the things that could go wrong.
Sometimes fear is useful. It gets our attention and helps protect us when there is a genuine threat. But much of the fear we carry through everyday life isn't about something happening right now. It's about what might happen. What if I fail? What if I make the wrong choice? What if I lose what I have? What if I'm not ready?
When we continually focus on those possibilities, fear can become the lens through which we experience life.
Letting go of fear doesn't mean you will never feel afraid again. It means learning that fear doesn't have to make your decisions for you. You can acknowledge it, listen to what it may be showing you, and still choose where you want to place your energy and attention.
Affirmations can help you begin creating that shift.
Using Affirmations to Shift Fear
When you're afraid, jumping immediately to an affirmation such as Everything is wonderful! may not feel believable. And if your mind is arguing with every word you're saying, the affirmation probably isn't creating the shift you're looking for.
Start where you are.
An affirmation such as I am willing to see this differently can sometimes create more movement than trying to convince yourself that you aren't afraid. From there, you can gradually reach for thoughts of safety, trust, possibility, courage, and freedom.
Choose the affirmations below that feel supportive to you right now.

Release the Fear Before You Move Forward
Fear doesn't always mean that you're on the wrong path. Sometimes it simply means that an old belief, past experience, or imagined outcome has been activated. Instead of pushing through the fear and taking action from that energy, give yourself a little time to work with what you're feeling first.
Ask yourself what you're afraid of. Let the answer come without judging it or trying to talk yourself out of it. Then begin reaching for thoughts that help you feel a little safer, calmer, and more trusting. EFT Tapping can be especially helpful here. Tapping involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points while acknowledging what you're feeling, helping to calm the nervous system and release some of the emotional intensity around the fear.
You don't necessarily have to eliminate every trace of fear before taking your next step. But if you have the opportunity, give yourself time to come back into alignment before you act. There is a very different energy between forcing yourself forward while your whole being is saying, I'm scared, and moving forward once you feel more grounded, clear, and connected to yourself.
As you work with these affirmations, notice which ones bring you a sense of relief. You don't have to leap from fear all the way to complete confidence. Simply reach for the next thought that feels a little better. Then another. Allow yourself to gradually move from fear toward possibility, trust, and eventually a place where the action you want to take feels more natural.
Fear doesn't need to be fought, ignored, or dragged along with you. It can be acknowledged, understood, and gently released. And then, when you feel yourself coming back into alignment, you can ask: What feels right from here? That is a very different place from which to create your next step.
